The members of the European Section of the International Science Council (ISC) will gather for their Annual Meeting in London on 12 and 13 October.
The Annual Meeting will review the activities of the member organisations over the past year and discuss the role of science in the changed world following the coronavirus pandemic and new challenges.
The Annual Meeting will be followed by a Science Day, with presentations focusing on the role of scientific advice in tackling a range of challenges. This will include discussions on the future direction of scientific advice in Europe and how scientific advice can best be used to address crises.
The European Section is made up of 48 research organisations from different European countries.
The Annual Meeting and Science Day are organised by the Estonian Academy of Sciences in collaboration with the Royal Society and the British Academy.
Estonia will chair the ISC for three years, until the end of 2024.
