The Estonian Academy of Sciences was founded in 1938 on the basis of the Estonian Academy of Sciences Act.
On 13 April 1938, the first 12 members of the Estonian Academy of Sciences were approved by the Minister of State Konstantin Päts on the proposal of the Minister of Education.
